چکیده
Aim: The goal of this study was to establish the level awareness amongst pregnant women in terms preparation for an oral glucose tolerance test (oGTT), compare results two waves data collection, and identify most frequent preanalytical mistakes made connection oGTT. Design: Comparison 2 cross-sectional studies. Methods: From 2013–2017 independent questionnaire studies were performed on a total 477 Olomouc ZlĂn regions. A 225 respondents took part Study 1 (2013–2014), 252 (2016–2017). Acquired analysed using descriptive statistics focused substantive significance results, as well inference statistics. Results: Based sum index, overall had increased slightly (by 0.41 points out 5), Cohen’s d = 0.3 suggests effect only mediocre. Fifteen erroneous processes found. However, these a decreasing trend once guidelines been unified. Conclusion: more reliable performance oGTT certified laboratories declared by 2. awareness, checking their adherence regime before during course measuring still inadequate. It is necessary improve women’s how perform correctly ensure least possible distortion results.

Prediction of Glucose Tolerance without an Oral Glucose Tolerance Test
Introduction Impaired glucose tolerance (IGT) is diagnosed by a standardized oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT). However, the OGTT is laborious, and when not performed, glucose tolerance cannot be determined from fasting samples retrospectively. We tested if glucose tolerance status is reasonably predictable from a combination of demographic, anthropometric, and laboratory data assessed at one ...
متن کاملThe 75-g oral glucose tolerance test in pregnancy.
The significant threshold values for the 75-g oral glucose tolerance test (oGTT) during pregnancy have yet to be conclusively determined. This study aimed to identify the risk significance of various set thresholds for the oGTT result. Women undergoing a 75-g oGTT during the third trimester of pregnancy were classified into three groups: mild gestational impaired glucose tolerance (GIGT; 2-h po...
متن کاملAssessing the shape of the glucose curve during an oral glucose tolerance test.
OBJECTIVE The oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) is used to define the status of glucose tolerance based on the plasma glucose level at 120 min. The purpose of the present study was to identify parameters that determine the shape of the plasma glucose course measured at 0, 30, 60, 90, and 120 min during an OGTT. RESEARCH DESIGN AND METHODS OGTT data from 551 subjects (485 with normal glucose ...
متن کاملGlucose Absorption in Gestational Diabetes Mellitus During an Oral Glucose Tolerance Test
OBJECTIVE Women with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) show reduced insulin sensitivity and markedly elevated glucose excursions. After delivery, GDM mostly reverts to normal glucose tolerance (NGT), although leaving an increased risk of type 2 diabetes. Because gastrointestinal function changes during pregnancy causing vomiting, constipation, or reduced motility, we thought that gut glucose ...
